June 11: It's hard to believe that we've been back at it for about 2 weeks now. It has been wonderful to see so many familiar faces at the market again and great to meet new customers as well. We want to thank you for showing up with enthusiasm and patience as we get started on the 2026 season. It's definitely been, and will continue to be, a challenging year for us but your support and encouragement mean so much!
If you haven’t picked your strawberries yet, now is the time! Conditions are still good with easy picking on our largest variety. But this is also the time of year when conditions can change quickly, and best-case scenario, the end of the season is about 10 days out. So get them while the gettin’ is good!
Red raspberries are also now in season. Pick your own is now open daily (right next to the strawberries) with excellent conditions. We have a great crop of these early red raspberries and expect to have easy picking through the end of the month when black raspberries ripen.
Blueberries are coming on fast and will open for PYO sometime next week. The blueberry season should last for about six weeks, so you’ll have lots of chances for blueberries. In fact, our second variety of blueberries (ripening in about two weeks) will have an even larger crop than the berries ripening now.
As a reminder, our cherry crop was wiped out by the April freeze, but we WILL have cherries coming soon to the market. More on that next week!
