September 17: We know how much you LOVE tractor rides, great scenery, AND a HUGE field of sunflowers… so we’re doing it all again this Saturday! Bring your camera and the kids and wander through our sunflower fields deep in our orchard. Just $5 a person with sunflowers and memories both included!
The fall raspberry season is near its peak now, with good conditions daily. We have several fields of raspberries, so be sure to ask directions for the best picking.
In the market, we have several varieties of apples including Gala, Honeycrisp, Crimson Crisp, Ruby Mac, and Senshu (early Fuji) being added Friday afternoon. We expect to start picking Mutsu (also known as Crispin) on Monday and will also have Golden Delicious next week.
Pears are near the peak of the season. People have been loving the Magness this year or if you like a crispy option, try Gem. We will add another variety, Shenandoah, on Saturday.
It is starting to look a lot like Fall at the market, with gourds, mums, decorative pumpkins, cornstalks, straw bales, and MUCH more! Get started on that porch decorating project now while the weather is still nice, and the selection is still huge. We grow about 50 varieties of squash, so we’ll be adding even more over the next few weeks.
Winter squash now available at the market includes butternuts, acorns, and some more exotic options like candy roasters and dickenson field pumpkins (like they use in Libby’s canned pumpkin).
