Barron grew up on the family orchard, working long hours through the summer and winter and helping out where possible. Mom and Dad called in “character building.” They were probably right, but don’t tell them that.
After college at Virginia, Barron headed West to work for P&G where he met Jana. The long trek back to the farm started with a brief detour through Houston, and took a longer turn through “The Happiest Place on Earth” – Hershey, PA. (Hershey is one of those places on the CandyLand board where you really don’t mind getting stuck.)
We finally landed back on the farm in 2013, and look forward to building many happy memories with our family.
I am going to enjoy reading your blog about your adventure. My husband and I always say we wish we could pick up and move to a farm and live off the land; and you guys did it. I know Jana will be greatly missed here in Hershey, especially by Elizabeth Lerro, but what an awesome experience and meaningful memories you are giving your family. Farms raise good people.
