Cherry Cheese Pizza
1 C. Flour
1/8 t. baking powder
¼ C. cold butter
2 T. shortening
3 to 4 T water
1 (8 oz) pk. cream cheese softened
½ C. sugar
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla extract
1/3 C. chopped pecans or almonds
TOPPING:
2 ½ C fresh or frozen tart cherries
1/3 C. sugar
2 T. cornstarch
1 T butter
1/8 t. almond extract
1/8 t. red food coloring
whipped cream and fresh mint, optional

  1. In a bowl, combine flour and baking powder
  2. Cut in butter and shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Gradually add water, tossing with a fork until dough forms a ball.
  4. Roll out into a 14-in. circle. Place on an ungreased 12 in. pizza pan. Flute edges to form a rim; prick the bottom of crust.
  5. Bake at 350º for 15 minutes.
  6. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in nuts. Spread Over crust.
  7. Bake 10 min. longer. Cool.
  8. Drain cherries, reserving 1/3 cup juice. Set cherries and juice aside.
  9. In a saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch; stir in reserved juice until smooth. Add cherries.
  10. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil. Cook and stir 2 minutes longer.
  11. Remove from the heat; stir in butter, extract and food coloring.
  12. Cool to room temperature; spread over cream cheese layer.
  13. Garnish with whipping cream and mint if desired.

Cherry Pudding
1 ½ c. sugar
2 eggs
2 T. butter
2 C. flour
2 t. baking powder
1 C. milk
2 C. tart cherries (pitted)
(if sweet cherries are used, reduce the sugar to taste)
dash of salt

Cream butter and sugar together. Add milk alternately with flour, salt and baking powder. Add well drained cherries and bake at 350º for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Note: This recipe was from a customer who has enjoyed Shaw cherries for many years.

Anne Marie's Fruit Sorbet
6 Oz. Orange Juice Concentrate
1 Tbs. Lemon Juice
12 Oz. Clear Carbonated Beverage (Sprite, Fresca, 7-Up, Ginger Ale, etc.)
2 Cups Banana, sliced and quartered
10 Oz. Frozen Strawberries with juice
8 Oz. can Tidbit Pineapple Chunks
1 Cup fresh or frozen Blueberries
1 Cup fresh or canned Dark Cherries
  1. Mix together all fruits and juices. Any combination of fruits may be used. Include all juices if canned or frozen fruits are used.
  2. Freeze for 6 hours then stir. (The fruit will float to the top)
  3. Freeze overnight.
  4. Thaw 1 to 1 ½ hour before serving. This will keep for weeks in the freezer. It is a wonderful snack appetizer, or dessert.
